TARGELIS KNOWLEDGE CENTER / COURSE 2
Risk Management for Managers
Translate departmental objectives into practical risk assessments, resource choices, control requirements, actions and operational decisions.
Departmental, operational and functional managers who make decisions about objectives, resources, controls and escalation.
6 teaching weeks, plus one separate orientation week and a separately scheduled final assessment window.
What you will learn to do
- Develop a departmental risk assessment and explain its evidence and assumptions.
- Build a treatment plan with priorities, owners and resource implications.
- Use KRIs, control evidence and escalation records to support operational decisions.
Study and weekly timetable
Study at your own pace within the scheduled weekly timetable. Read the assigned learner-guide section, follow the interactive narrated lesson, work through examples and complete the practice. Use the feedback to revisit relevant teaching before retrying. Formal assessments and the practical portfolio are separate from ungraded practice.
Orientation is a separate week. Teaching units open Monday at 00:00 South African time. Ordinary weekly and final submission deadlines are Sunday at 10:00 South African time. A full 90-minute timed assessment must start no later than Sunday at 08:30. Approved individual arrangements are confirmed separately.
Weekly workloads vary and some weeks require extended study. Request the detailed intake study plan before enrolment; reading, practice, feedback, revision and assessment all require time. Planning allowances are not measured completion times.

Reading and resources
A Targelis learner guide and course resources support your study. Assigned sections are identified in the course reading list. Where Fundamentals of Risk Management is required, the approved edition is the seventh edition. Your quotation must identify the required licence, included cost and confirmed access arrangements; avoid a duplicate purchase if you already have a valid licence.
Assessment and course completion
Every weekly learning outcome must be demonstrated. Where numerical marking applies, the weekly minimum is 65%, alongside the required outcome evidence. Other written judgments use Not achieved, Partially achieved or Achieved, supported by evidence and a moderation reason. Verifiable alternative written evidence may demonstrate the same outcome.
The final examination contributes 40% and the practical component 60%. Each component must reach at least 60%; the weighted overall result must reach 70%, with all essential outcomes met. Timed assessments allow 90 minutes and three total attempts, subject to the course rules, deadlines and applicable tutor support.
Results remain provisional until human review and moderation. Any certificate confirms successful completion of the course, not completion of an individual lesson. Certificate issue arrangements are confirmed separately; instant automated certificate PDFs and public online verification are not currently offered. No external accreditation or recognition is claimed.
